The People of God Sermon Series

People of God – Fall Sermon Series

In a culture increasingly concerned with the values of freedom and individual expression, the idea of commitment to an authoritative institution seems a dying fad at best and an instrument of archaic oppression at its worst. This is the context in which the church of Jesus Christ exists. Yet Jesus proclaims that the church is not fading, but rather advancing – in fact the gates of hell cannot prevail against it (Matthew 16.16-19). So what is true? Is the local church the hope of the world or the final vestige of antiquated institutionalism? This series will outline how the church is the chosen ecosystem where the wisdom of God is displayed and the people of God are shaped, united and matured.
